JEWELRY PRODUCTION MANAGER
Position:
  • Jewelry Production Manager
Location:
  • South Windsor, CT
Salary:
  • $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 /year
Description:
    Provide direction and facilitate, through staff, production activities to safely, efficiently and effectively achieve Job Description quality requirements in accordance with the goals and objectives of the company.
    Establish jewelry repair production priorities in conjunction with scheduling regarding delivery, quality and cost
    Optimize production, utilization of personnel, machines and equipment. Review and analyze production efficiency, losses and quality on a routine basis. Determine causes and costs of nonconformance and implement corrective action as authorized to improve performance. Establish in conjunction with management, production and quality standards. Assist in the preparation of department budgets.
    Communicate daily job responsibilities, objectives and priorities to staff. Provide follow-up activity to ensure appropriate communication and job instruction reaches all levels of personnel. Communicate and coordinate material and mechanical requirements with the respective employees. Establish and maintain effective transfer of shift operations to the next shift employees. Ensure standard operating procedures are followed.
    Determine and request approval for proper staffing to achieve production and quality requirements for repairs and to maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Determine and recommend need for overtime. Communicate plans to supervise and coordinate coverage. Monitor overtime efficiency.
    Responsible for creating a positive employee relations atmosphere. Provide proper training and tools to employees. Working with supervision, responsible for the timely evaluation and disposition of new employees. Responsible for ensuring each employee has an annual performance review and provided feedback on an on-going basis. Manage labor relations issues. Seek help and guidance required. Communicate issues to human resources and manager. Develop a succession plan for the organization
    Responsible for the compliance with health and safety regulations. Report safety problems and follow up with the appropriate managers to solve the problems.
    Comply with company rules and regulations
    Maintain confidentiality and company sensitive data
    Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department.
    Keep manager’s/supervisor’s informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.
    Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company.

Qualifications and Job Experience:
  • One year of Bench jewelry experience or knowledge of jewelry repair including but not limited to ring sizing’s, stone setting, chain solder, inventory, diamonds and colored stones.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels in a culturally diverse work environment
  • Ability to motivate personnel to perform at a quality level yet be able to discipline as necessary in a consistent and fair approach.

Salary:
  • Compensation for a Certified Watchmaker is $60,000 to $70,000 per year. Pay based on many factors such as demonstrated hard and soft skills, level of education and certification, history in the industry, and relevant work experience. A salaried technician must be certified. Without certification $22 to $26 per hour.

    We are looking for skilled watch makers that have multiple talents. Ideal applicants should have broad knowledge relating to chronographs, perpetual calendars, quartz and mechanical movements. Capable of working with a wide range of products from inexpensive to luxury brands with equal attention to detail. We are looking for both hourly and salaried technicians. This position is full-time.

  • Ability to repair and refinish cases
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose repairs accurately
